Ceremony

Legally, the State of Connecticut doesn’t care what we do for a ceremony. It can be as simple as a couple of sentences, or as complicated and extravagant as you can imagine. The tone can be as silly or serious as you like.

From my end, in the most positive way possible, I don’t care what we do so long as you’re happy with it. Want to do a traditional formal affair with me in a tux and quoting poetry? Sure. Want me to dress like a ninja and do the ceremony in a tree? Sounds fun! I’m also comfortable incorporating any religious or cultural traditions that you’d like. And if you want someone else involved in the ceremony, be it a religious leader, family member, or friend, I’m more than happy to collaborate with whoever.

I can be as involved or uninvolved in crafting the ceremony as you like. I have a wealth of experience and I’m happy to offer advice or take the lead on any and all aspects, but I’m also perfectly happy to be handed a script and told exactly what you want me to do.

Ultimately, it’s your ceremony. No matter how engaging and enjoyable I may be, no one came to hear me speak, so the only thing that really matters is that we do something that resonates with you and is all in service of celebrating your love and commitment.
